Abintra launch wisenet - our Automatic Occupancy Survey system!

We are proud to announce the launch of our new product - wisenet.

Wisenet (Wireless Sensor Network) is the result of many months of research and development into a better way to carry out time utilisation studies than the traditional "walk-through / bed-check" method, whereby spaces are checked manually, sometime as little as 4 times a day, giving at best vague, and at worst wildly inaccurate results.

Wisenet uses our patented* wireless mesh system - a sensor is located at each location to be included in the study, and these sensors detect human presence at that location every 2 seconds, collating and sending data back to a central server at 10 minute intervals (or more frequently if required).

This data is then analysed within our database and published in the form of easy to understand charts and tables via a convenient web portal, accessible from anywhere.

The advantages of this system over traditional methods are numerous:

  • The sensors are inconspicuous and so can remain in location for longer study periods;
  • They are constantly tracking data so a study can be carried out 24/7 if required;
  • Because of the frequent readings, a complete picture can be formulated for each hour, instead of one 'spot-check':
  • Because the results are uploaded directly to our wisenet server, results can be viewed immediately, and while the study is in progress.

We are confident that wisenet is set to become the standard for measuring occupancy within the workplace in years to come.
